The SharePoint admin center and the Power Platform admin center are both administrative portals within Microsoft 365, but they serve different purposes and manage distinct sets of services.

SharePoint Admin Center

The SharePoint admin center is dedicated to managing SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business within Microsoft 365. It is used to configure site collections, define sharing policies, manage storage limits, and oversee content services.

    Key Capabilities:
  • Site Management: Create, delete, and configure SharePoint sites and hub sites.

  • Sharing Settings: Control internal and external sharing for sites and files.
  • Storage and Quotas: Allocate storage, set limits, and monitor usage across sites.

The SharePoint admin center is service-specific, focusing exclusively on collaboration, document management, and content governance within Microsoft 365.
 

Power Platform Admin Center

The Power Platform admin center provides a centralized interface for administering Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and selected Dynamics 365 applications. It is designed to help administrators manage environments, security, monitoring, licensing, and deployments across the Power Platform ecosystem.

    Key Capabilities
  • Environment Management: Create, configure, group, and delete environments, and manage tenant-level settings.
  • Security: Define data loss prevention (DLP) policies, assign user roles, and manage permissions.
  • Monitoring: Track operational health, performance metrics, and activity for apps and flows.
  • Deployment: Manage application lifecycle management (ALM) pipelines and approve deployment requests.
  • Licensing: View license usage and identify or resolve licensing issues.
  • Support: Access self-service troubleshooting resources or open support tickets.
